Making a good warm-up drill great, by adding decision making

I am a big believer in making drills progressive through adding more elements to them. This is a good example of that.

The drill is in its foundation a solid warm-up drill, but then I add a decision element to the drill. This deciscion element actually also boosts the drill from a warm-up drill to a skills drill, in my way of thinking.

The active player – who normally just fires a shot at the end of the drill, while it is a warm-up drill and serves that purpose – then gets the possibility to also play an east-west pass for a one-timer, when the receiver has the right handidness for a shot.

I have started working with a Spiideo camera and the Spiideo presentation tool, which opens up neat new visual possibilities to teach drills. Look at the video below, and you will see the spotlight and measuring tools, where two players are highlighted and connected, while the distance between is also measured during playback of the video.
