The first defensive playbook is here! And it is actually more than a playbook.

The first defensive playbook is here! And it is actually more than a playbook.

During the spring, I have been working hard on getting the first defensive playbook ready for you guys. Now the time has come. And I actually invested way more engery on this one, than I thought I would from the beginning.

My first thought was to do a PDF with text and pictures to explain the system, in some kind of e-book format. As the xProgress platform launched and the reception was really positive (thank you!), I raised the bar for this product. And now I feel really happy about how it turned out.

I transformed that plain PDF into more of an online course with a mixture between video presentations, text and commented game film with drawings, like you are used to from the game analysis on this platform.

Everyone who buys it, will also get the benefit to ask me questions about incorporating the defensive system, once you have started working with your team. Meaning the course is not over when you have finished it! You can stay in contact with me, to make sure you have your most important questions answered during the process.

You sign up for the online course, and then you decide for yourself in what tempo you want to go through it. Once it is bought, you can stream the material whenever and wherever you want to.

Online course | Defensive playbook | 2-2-1

This first online course is about the variations of the 2-2-1 systems – including everything that has some form of a box behind a steering forward, so the Swedish term "styrspel" is also in there. I deployed a type of 2-2-1 system during my stops in Pixbo and Switzerland (for some lines). I have won the SSL with this system and during the historical first win for a Swiss men's national team against Sweden, all three lines played like this. So there is proof from the absolute highest level, that this is a competitive system, to say the least. And I am not holding anything back, I am not hiding anything.

I have put a lot of work into this, and in a way it is a summary of my soon 30 years at the absolut top level of this sport. Breaking into the SSL as a player at the age of 17, through my coaching career until now.

A sneak peak

1) A presentation about the core of the defensive system

This is a quick look of the first minutes of the video presentation in the beginning of the course, showing the main concepts of the system.

2) Commented game film with drawings – the heart of the online course

Here are a couple of minutes from the game film part. There is 30 minutes of this type of video material in the online course. Like I said, not holding anything back.

3) A text summary of the system

I think it can be very beneficial to have just a few pages about the concept of the system and the main ideas behind it as well. So there is a summary PDF of five pages included as well. Here you see one of the pages.

How to buy it?

The platform that I use for xProgress, only supports subscriptions. And I decided to sell these defensive playbooks as one-time-purchase online courses. Because of that, the products will be sold from a well-known retailer of digital products – called Gumroad.

I definitely recommend you to download the Gumroad app. That way, you can carry the online course with you in your cell phone or tablet, even when you are at practice.

Pricing

Gumroad is a reseller of digital products to the entire world, and they will handle the VAT (value added tax). Therefor, the final price will differ for you, depending on what country you are from and the different VAT rules applicable to each country.

The price is 80 US dollars, plus VAT. In Sweden, VAT (moms) is 25% for this type of content, putting the total price for the online course at 100 US dollars for people from Sweden.

And here is the product!
