The Deciding Factor in the SSL Top Game
The two top teams in the men's SSL so far, faced off a couple of days ago in Uppsala. Storvreta ended up winning the game 8-5, and I decided to take a look at Kalmarsund's first line of Erol, Bürki, Malmström, Forsman-Eklund and Haglund.
The reason I did that, is because almost all winners of big titles in floorball, have a very dominant first line. I would say it is the rule rather than the exception, that a team winning titles has a pretty strong first unit.
🔢 | How did they do from a numbers perspective?
The first line of Kalmarsund actually did pretty good in this game, from an expected goals standpoint. Now – as we all know, expected goals do not decide games. Actual goals do, and they were 1-4 in this game. Meaning what was a pretty good performance, turned into a line result that sunk the hopes of their team in this particular game.
Sports can be really cruel at times.
Check out the numbers of their shifts below.

But there will be more important games coming down the stretch for both of these teams. What are the chances that Kalmarsund has a true top line on their hands here?
Let us look at some game tape, to try to find out what concerns there are about this line, and what they do really well. 👇
