What Would You Have Done?

I uploaded the video clip below on the xProgress Instagram the other day, and attached a poll to question my followers about how they thought about it. It is a three-on-two counter attack from Finland against Sweden in the women's U19 WFC final game.

Holopainen can go deep to Kuutniemi or east-west (short) to Gauffin-Kauste, who would then have to make another decision down the road.

Here you see the way that the xProgress followers voted.

More than two thirds of the followers believed in the east-west play instead of going for the homerun directly by getting the ball through to the far post.

I think it is very important to talk about these situations in a way that expands them from the actual situation into more of a general pattern about decision making and how you can try to quantify them a bit.
